The end is in sight for the TF1 roadworks between Santa Cruz and Güímar
The TF1 roadworks, comprising its expansion to six lanes between Santa Cruz and the Güímar industrial estate, will not be finished in October, but by March next year.
The plan was that the six lanes would be open this month, with the rest of the works, including lighting and planting, would be finished by the end of 2008. The Government has now announced that there will be a further slight delay, so that the six lanes will be fully operational by mid-November, and the full works complete within the first quarter of 2009.
Works were originally forecast to be completed in September 2006, having begun in November 2003, five years ago.
Re: The end is in sight for the TF1 roadworks between Santa Cruz and Güímar
The three lanes northbound (sea side) between Güimar and Santa Cruz should be opened tomorrow if the weather allows, and it doesn't rain. Drivers are requested to pay full attention to road signs.
Within a fortnight, too, the new Alisios II bridge connection between the TF1 and the TF2 should be functional.

I would give it a few days before venturing out that far. There is a gale here at the moment and it's coming down sideways cats, dogs and all!
Plus it will give the traffic long enough to erase all the yellow lines that are on the road at the moment. I have never seen so much paint on a road. At one point today I counted 9 lanes marked out in yellow in fact there were only two lanes open.
Very confusing

Three lanes working up to Radazul didn't go any further But I should think it's open all the way to the old junction to go down to Santa Cruz. Most of the yellow lines have also gone. Looking good

Yes up till 5pm the sea was like a mill pond and Santa Cruz was bathed in sun.
But up here in the sticks it's bloody cold and it's been blowing gale's off and on for the last week. I timed the clouds coming over the mountains at the back of the house. The fastest (from a clear sky to seeing nothing of the mountains) was 2 min 9 sec. Not a very scientific test but.....
