The new junctions for San Isidro will open in around a week
In approximately a week's time, the current San Isidro junction will close for traffic works, and the new junctions for the town will be opened to maintain access to the town. The new junctions are those for Cocarmen (which will be the future exit for San Isidro in the direction of Los Cristianos) and Los Cardones (exit in direction of Santa Cruz).
The works for the central junction for the town will involve the creation of several traffic islands and two roundabouts, one on the San Isidro side of the TF1 and another to service El Médano. Later, there will also be direct access from El Médano to the TF1 northbound.
San Isidro will therefore eventually have three junctions, and there are also plans for expansion of the TF1 at this point to three lines in either direction. The current works to the central junction, however, are contracted to finish in February 2009.

It would be great if you could confirm when the main junction closes, thankyou! At the moment they're just saying "in about a week's time, when the tarmac has been laid on the new junction" .....

ah, we forget what a "week" means, and my formula ... "for any given time period, apply the number to the period above the one quoted". So, for week read month, for month read year, for year read decade ..... and so on
Let's see if anything changes by the end of this month!
