The Mayor of Arona, José Alberto González Reverón, and the Cabildo Minister for Economy, Carlos Alonso, have presented the project for the route of the train through Arona. The presentation was made in the Cultural Centre, Los Cristianos, yesterday.
The train will enter Arona parallel to the motorway, on the right hand side of it when facing Los Cristianos. At the Guaza junction, there will be a tunnel under the motorway and the train will cross the TF1 there, and then cross underneath Guaza mountain, and then onto the interchange in Los Cristianos. The subterranean works will not affect the protected environment of Guaza mountain.
The whole railway line will be 80 kilometres running between the capital and the Torviscas area, with seven stops, one train every 15 minutes, and a total travel time of 45 minutes.
