Default Canarian Government's junket to London for the World Travel Market is criticized for wasting 60,000€

The PSC-PSOE Tourism spokeswoman, Olivia Estévez, has condemned the spending of 60,000€ by the Canarian Government Tourism Minister, Rita Martín, on 5 star accommodation for her group of 36 to attend the World Travel Market in London this year. In addition, there were subsistence costs, first class air travel, local chauffer-driven transfers, as well as food. The PSC-PSOE has criticized the "waste of going to the WTM in a time of crisis when the money would have been better spent on promoting the islands rather than going on a junket and engaging in self-promotion at the public cost".

The Government, she said, knew nothing about tourism, apart from how to enjoy it.

It sound like a lot, but it's less than 2000 euros per head, which is not surprising for London. But why send so many people? Who were they?

Not bad value for a useless junket. I think it was last week, fewer head teachers from a London borough went on a junket to Arizona? to see how they taught children. That was 60.000 pounds.

Well until my retirement so was I. But I worked for a living I wasn't a boss. So I, probably like you had no access to public money
