Default Six British holidaymakers and a child rescued from a lift stuck between two floors

Six British holidaymakers and a child had to be rescued by Bomberos and Local Police on Thursday afternoon when the lift they were in became stuck between two floors. The event occurred in a residential complex on the coast in the Municipality of Santiago del Teide ...

can't be any more specific than this, I'm afraid, because I can't find other news reports, but I cannot imagine being stuck in a lift with six other people down on the coast ... it's hot enough on the Rocks' terrace! Mind you, the bomberos ......

Yesterday, my friend Tracy and I went to the Gran Sur shopping centre. As the lift was going up, it got stuck between two floors. It is a glassed lift, all around, and when I pressed the alarm, a crowd gathered around us, pointing, some laughing. It was like being in a bloody Zoo. NEVER AGAIN. We were freed after about 10 minutes ..... never again.

I do not trust that lift in mercadona Las Chafiras. It judders to a halt, sometimes you have to step slightly down or up to get in an out of it, and it did get stuck once when my mum and dad were in it, but only for a couple of minutes. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I get out of it in one piece

Well a similar thing happened to me just last weekend

6 - 7 youngsters ( drunken ) stuck in a lift, bang bang bang on the door,
ring the bell they did until one owner called the reception

In the meantime one lad managed to prise the life door open from the inside and seen that they were stuck 3/4 up on the 2nd floor

With about a foot or so gap he drunkenly managed to fall out head first

On to his hands with his legs just balancing on the lifts floor ( you know like a handstand )

but as his arms gave way, he´d hit his head on the floor

meanwhile as his feet slipped off the lifts base they counter weighted him down the lift shaft

And he landed headfirst on a 3 foot retention spring ( shock absorber )

Knocked him into a 2 week coma it did

Took me and a copper 10 minutes to open the blood lift door with a crowbar as the safety mechanism had blocked the locks, so the key didn´t work......
