Default Man found burnt to death in Arico street

A man has been found burnt to death in a street in upper Icor, Arico. The man still has to be identified, but there was a fire in a dwelling to which the emergency services were called at 7.25 this morning, and they found the man outside the burning building. He had third-degree burns all over his body, and was dead when the Bomberos and police arrived.

The fire, and the death, are now to be investigated.

Default Re: Man found burnt to death in Arico street

More details have now emerged about this story.

The man was 75 years old, and has been identified as Emilio Lorenzo Díaz. He lived in an area called Madre del Agua, in Icor Alta, Arico, and the security services were alerted when the man's neighbours found him on the floor 100 metres away from his house as though running for help, with third degree burns all over his body.

The causes of the fire are still being investigated, but the main hypothesis at the moment is that the fire was caused by the falling over of a portable gas burner or a portable lamp, given that the house did not have electricity or water connected.
