Default Strike calls for TFS airport workers over the Christmas period

TFS airport workers are considering strike action because of what they call perilous security lacks, inadequate staffing levels, and AENA's labour policies.

It is really great to see the level of their concern for such vital issues as security ...

Strikes have been proposed for 6 December, which coincidentally is the Saturday on the "puente" for the Constitución fiesta, and also for various dates around the Christmas holiday period .......

I think it's more to do with the 'puente' and that 'AENA' may be cracking down on the thievery that goes on at the airport.
I personally know a senior baggage handler and he is, unfortunately an uncovicted thief as the member of my family he stole from couldn't be bothered complaining.
Our postman also used to work there for 6 weeks as a baggage handler. He left due to the thefts from luggage he saw on a daily basis. By the handlers and the managers!
I'm a bit biased as well as my luggage was searched and some stuff stolen. I know it was here as I saw the case being loaded on to the aircraft and the strap was missing!

Sorry got my cynical head on today

Well, let´s hope some of them will not be working there anymore
because they have been arested for stealing from the luggage.

OK being serious and not tongue in cheek now, they went on strike yesterday, and are going on strike again tomorrow and Monday and on the 19th ... BUT the strike is just for two hours, between midday and 2pm.

So if you hear about strikes at the airport, particularly given that it's a bank holiday weekend and therefore extremely plausible () ... it's just for two hours in the middle of each of the strike days.

Their security is laughable considering at Gatwich you have to remove flip flops!

I can confirm that!

I said to the grim lady managing the machine "Can't you put a bit of carpet down for all us folk in bare feet to use when collecting our flip-flops?"

Didn't get a laugh.

My case had the padlock removed at TFS, but there was evidently nothing in it worth stealing!
