Default Unelco is to start billing domestic clients on a monthly basis

Unelco Endesa will start billing monthly from the end of this month, instead of every other month as at present. In a press release, the company said that the monthly billing system will be provided to all clients with a contracted power of under 10 kilowatts, which would normally include most if not all domestic clients. The measure is intended to help people budget better. Meters will be read every other month, with estimated bills alternating.

The measure is intented to help UNELCO get their money sooner

Estimating every other bill doesn´t offer any help only to them - but you knew that anyway

We´ve actually been having ours every month now for the past 2 months already and they have advised that they won´t be sending us a bill in December to allow people for the holiday season, but will of course get double again January .

Yet one more self-interested move presented as an insult to the intelligence.

As long as the estimates are fairly done and not OTT I believe the move will help people to budget on a monthly basis. Money is very tight at the moment for a lot of people and paying bills every two months can be hard if you are not diciplined enough to budget for them. It will also benefit people how rent their properties out and charge bills on top of the rent.

I cauldnt agree more , much much easier being charged monthly than every 2 months , there are very few people who are strict enough with themselves to put money away for the bills , i dont think i know any !!!

Much easier for owners who rent out as well as they will get the money back quicker . If done fairly i think its a good move

That crossed my mind too. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. But I would have thought there would be a right uproar if they did.
