Three arrested in south Tenerife for their involvement in drug trafficking via the UK by Scottish ex-pats in Spain
How complicated!
Three people have been arrested in Santa Cruz by the National Police, and two further arrests were made in Marbella, as part of a drugs syndicate involving a shipment of Speed that was seized in Oxford. The shipment, of 70 kilos of Speed, was on its way to Spain from Belgium, via the UK where it was seized. The driver of the lorry was arrested.
The seizure and arrests followed an international police operation which uncovered a systemic organised drugs route from Belgium via the UK to Spain, organised by Scottish residents in Spain. Drop offs apparently involved arranged meetings in Málaga, Santa Cruz, Glasgow, and various locations in Portugal. As part of the operation, police have also seized 100,000€ and 6,000 Pounds Sterling, seven luxury vehicles, a 10 metre craft, and incriminating documentation.
The head of the drugs ring is someone who has been identified by the initials SDB, who is apparently well known to the British police for his involvement in international drug trafficking.
re: Three arrested in south Tenerife for their involvement in drug trafficking via the UK by Scottish ex-pats in Spain
It looks like they were talking about the province of Santa Cruz (de Tenerife) rather than the city, and in fact, it appears that these arrests in Tenerife were in south Tenerife! Have edited the thread title.
Specifically, the arrests were made in the Arona area, and all three arrested here are Scottish.
The luxury cars seized include two two Feraris, a Hummer (?), a Porsche Cayenne, an Audi Q7, a BMW 6 series, an all terrain vehicle, three quads and 4 water bikes, as well as the 10 metre-long launch ... etc etc. The majority of these, according to today's press, were seized in Arona and are now under lock and key in the Las Américas police station.
Re: Three arrested in south Tenerife for their involvement in drug trafficking via the UK by Scottish ex-pats in Spain
It's not linked to the recent arrests in Las Galletas is it??
The canaries seem to be a regular "stopping off point" for the drug trade, you'd think they would know better, the Spanish police are actually really good at catching these evil drug barons.
I hope they spend a long long time behind bars! - Wonder what happens to the cars? Sold off to fund the police force??

No, they seem totally separate cases, and they've been treated separately in the press ... the Galletas story is HERE. There have been loads of drugs busts lately, including Fasnia and a huge one in Abades. The guy from Galletas arrested was a Sevillian.
The Belgium-UK-Spain-Tenerife one is separate, Scottish organised, and much larger scale. The police are doing amazingly well lately against the drugs trade.
