Default The Spanish goverment is to introduce tougher laws against terrorism, paedophilia, bribery etc.

The Spanish government has given the green light to proposals to change the penal code and impose more severe laws against various crimes such as terrorism, paedophilia and bribery, according to this article in El Pais. This is the first change to the penal code for five years, and makes it the toughest for twenty years.

Terrorism and paedophilia legislation is fairly predictable. As for bribery, the plan is to introduce fines three times the value of the bribe, and jail sentence of up to four years for what are considered less serious cases.

Quote:

Very good. They can pass all the laws in the world, but it the infrastructure isn't there to implement it, it's not worth a hoot.
