Default Gang responsible for wave of forced robberies on Jewellery shops is broken up with arrest of eleven Rumanians in Operation Brasov

The Provincial Brigade of the Policía Judicial, together with contingents from the Playa de las Américas Comisaría have just carried out the culmination of Operation "Brasov", and successfully broken up a gang which has been robbing commercial establishments, usually by force, and focusing especially on those selling jewellery.

The operation itself was carried out yesterday, but Operation "Brasov" has been working in the background for a month now, since the robbery committed on the Las Américas jewellers, 'Te quiero', when the thieves got away with jewellery valued at around 70.000 euros. Thanks to that investigation, various leads were were found which have now resulted in the eventual break up of the entire gang and its activities.

A second raid on 'Te quiero' on the 13th of this month, in which 85.000 euros worth of jewellery was stolen ... in fact the shop's entire stock on display ... at least achieved further identifications, and the final count is a gang of eleven Rumanians, one of whom is a legal minor, all based in south Tenerife.

Most of the stolen jewellery has been recovered from the residences searched during the final stage of this operation, despite the thieves' attempts to chuck it out of windows. It was clear from police searches that the jewellery had already been sorted and organized ready for resale. Also found, however, was the fruit of various other commercial robberies, including perfume, sports shoes, tobacco, etc., as well as individual items necessary for forcing entry.

There is no doubt in the police's mind that they have the guilty parties, and they have recovered the goods, and the thieves who did the actual robberies have now been identified by victims ...

Another successful outcome to a Tenerife crime investigation.

It is unfortunate that most of the crime on the island, or at least a disproportionate amount, is due to foreigners. This makes it difficult for all foreigners.

This is how it's always been!

The bloody foreigners cause "all" the trouble.

But Rumanians are not foreigners are they? their thieves.
They will probably be deported to the UK where they will be welcomed with open arms we will look after them. Housing benefits, job seekers allowance, health care, free dentists, unmolested begging etc..

Sorry got my bag head on today

But well done to the police!
