The road between the TF1 and Güímar town centre is to be reformed at a cost of just over six million Euros. Of this, 100,000€ will be required for the 67 compulsory purchase orders that will be needed. The project is designed to give Güímar faster and safer access to the TF1, and works will start next year and continue until 2012. Five bends will be straightened, the whole road widened to provide two 3.5m lanes, a roundabout placed near the petrol station, 2.5m pavements installed on both sides, and disused areas will be converted into green zones and parking areas.
