Five held in the Canaries in a nationwide operation against a child pornography network
A nationwide Guardia Civil operation which has resulted in 40 arrests for possession and distribution of child pornography has also had an impact in the Canaries, where four have been arrested and one implicated. It appears that all those arrested exchanged videos and photographs with paedophile content through the internet.
The operation began in February when the Guardia Civil received information about the existence of a network of photographs of children which someone had accidentally downloaded onto his computer. The Guardia Civil immediately started trying to locate and identify the authors and distributors of the images, which brought to light a wide-ranging and active network of persons across Spain ... at the moment, the police are saying "persons resident in Spain" ... who were accessing and exchanging the archives.
The investigation has continued since then, and has now led to these arrests, and more are probably in the pipeline. The operation itself has involved 59 searches in 51 locations, the seizure of 12 computers with more than 1,350 gigabytes of paedophiliac content, 25,000 photos and more than 9,000 videos.
Sick bastards. I feel sorry too for the police. Their dedication is incredible as they wade through this utter filth and degradation to save these poor children and others like them.

I know what you mean though ... I can't imagine how one could do that accidentally, though there was one occasion that we ended up with a virus and an obscene desktop icon that we couldn't get rid of because Jeremy was researching the Greek god Hermes ... whose typical social incarnation was a statue with a flaccid willy. In a moment of academic distraction he googled .............

I feel sorry for the police too, or any other decent person who would have to look at this. I couldnt do it, absolutely not, no way.
Re: Five held in the Canaries in a nationwide operation against a child pornography network
A few more details are emerging ...
The operation was codenamed Operación Ninja. Four searches have been carried out in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and two people arrested. One in Granadilla and another in Breña Baja (La Palma); the implicated party is from Arona. The Palmero is 25 years old and had 17,500 archives and films on his computer hard drive, found during a search of his home. The Granadillan is 26 years old who had 125 pornographic items on his computer. The Aronero is 31, implicated in helping distribute the material.
The news report isn't specific, but presumably the other two arrested are from the Eastern province.
