staff at Arona Gran Hotel, have been told they will have be closed, or at least scaled down a lot, as well as several hotels in Las Americas.
Rumors about well known Clothing brands closing several shops, and a tourist park in the south temp closing, is also in play,
but since I only have heard this from one "source", I dont name names...

Re: Shock As Tenerife's Barceló Hotels Put Up For Sale
Thanks for that..
One thing that sent shock waves was if the Arona Gran is struggling others must be too..Its part of the Spring Hotels chain and you will see that by in large all their hotels in Tenerife which include the Vulcano & the Bitacora attract very good reviews and have much repeat business.
If the good hotels are struggling, what about the mediocre ones I wonder??
Re: Shock As Tenerife's Barceló Hotels Put Up For Sale
Only gossip ... but a fairly good source tells me that one of the major hotels in Las Americas is closing for the summer and putting its clients into two of its other hotels and using the recession as a chance to refurbish.
I don't want to say where just yet, but when it's a "go" I'll let you know!
Re: Shock As Tenerife's Barceló Hotels Put Up For Sale
This chain isn't finishing anyone, they are transferring their staff to their other hotels. They realise that this is a blip and not a permanent situation, however worrying it is.
