Last year was so lovely in El Medano, these last few weeks have really annoyed me. I need to wash my car everyday, my washing comes in covered in sand and washing my windows is just getting ridiculous!!

Trouble is I really love the relaxed and non commercial side of El Medano, I really dont know where I would want to move to.

Palm Mar is nice, but wouldnt cope with the Guaza traffic every morning!

Where else is there like El Medano, but not as windy??

It will be interesting to see if the new roundabout makes any difference when it is finished. No doubt it will all be ready just as I move to Fañabe

Gracelacey, Looked at the forecast for El Medano for next week it should be much lighter winds.

I don't bother to clean my windows until I see a light wind forecast not much point really, and same for the car as well, as long as you can see out of the car windows of course.

The clocks have moved forward, just think (very soon), of those wonderful warm evenings sitting in El Medano town square. Its a special place...

yes it has been very windy here in el medano the last couple of days, but its still worth while putting up with that for a few days as the mild breeze we get through the rest of the year makes it bearable for me to sit out in instead of being uncomfortably scorching hot.

They forecast 50 kmh winds on Oasis radio for tomorrow, and its rattling round my house now like a bloody hurricane. It does get frustrating, especially when theres not so much as a breath in L.A. - it wouldnt be so bad if it was the same all over the island. Even today, we left gale force God knows what in El Medano for Los Cris, called at Oratienda on the TF 1 for fuel, and it was completely calm there

The wind should be calming down by wednesday in El Medano.

I look at this site for wind speed forecasts.

Thank you so much for that, I can now plan ahead a bit when I know its going to be windy etc.

I really dont think I will move, I love it here, my house, the fact that my youngest is never home as she is out with her friends all day long, the spanish lifestyle and safety we feel in El Medano. A few days of wind I can cope with, its only when it goes on for weeks at a time that I cant!!

Plus I am now being talked into kitesurfing lessons!!!!!
