It was 7º this morning for us, and it's just 15 now.

The weekend's forecast is not brilliant, coolish and cloudy, with possibility of slight rain. Very cold at altitude ... between 5 and 10 in the day, between 0 and 5 in the night

So much for the Canarian "cool" house building....I bet they didn't figure on this climate change all those years ago!.........

Ah well, at least I can go on the terrace for a warm up

The 'average' winter temperature for Tenerife is 20c and my thermometer hasn't dropped below this during the day for the whole of this spell of 'cold' weather, so I don't think that the temperature is that exceptional, it is the lack of sunshine. Since we have moved over here, it is the weather that has been the most disappointing feature for me. We have had far more cloudy weather than I would have expected. We visited regularly in every season before moving over and never had more than the odd day of cloud. I'm hoping that this year is going to prove to be an exception. Apparently, according to beekeepers on the island, honey production had been down by 75 to 80% on 2007 (Island Connections) and they blame this on one of the poorest summers on record for sunlight. We could be in for a gloomy winter.
