Default Yellow alert for Tenerife for strong winds Friday and Saturday 1st and 2nd August 2008.

Tenerife is on yellow alert for strong winds gusting to 75 Km/h over tomorrow and Saturday, especially along the coasts.

I agree Blanche! I hate them, and especially in summer! They're talking about this as gales, though, verging on a tropical storm, so they've not mentioned a calima at the moment. They're talking about "coastal phenomena" which I'm taking as "squalls", but I don't really konw what "fenómenos costeros" are! Best peg those sheets down well Dude

Not a breath of wind on the Golf at the moment, but its normally about 11am when the wind picks up..... Super day here

It's later today they reckon it's coming in, lasting through until Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'd get those side panels up ...

Think they call anything like this a calima ... don't see the dust, and they're forecasting just 24 hours or so of it. I HOPE it's not a calima!
