Ok, i am very slightly bummed about the weather we are having here at the moment.
I arrived last sunday (23rd) and have had one half day of sun (yesterday) so of course, i was on the beach in Los Cristianos trying to get some rays.
I have never felt cold in all the time i have been coming here but this time i have been. Even had to buy a cardigan, long sleeve tops and some fleecy pajamas ... whats with that!!!
Has anyone heard the weather and are we in for some sun this week?

LOL, i know thatit's winter! I was here last nov, dec and jan and it was no where this chilly!!
Even all the locals have been saying that this is very unusual for this month.
There's been a discussion about it HERE ... half way down the page and following on the next two. It's just unsettled right now and should right itself soon, which I guess isn't much comfort to those who are only just here for this week or so ...

Isn't the Canary Current an ocean current Torrenter, rather than an air current? Or is there a connection?
Trade winds are from the North-East, so the moisture content, normally low, is affected by sea temperature and evaporation rates. It only needs a fraction of a percent change to extend cloud cover over and beyond Teide. The sea to our immediate west is warmer anyway, so westerly winds mean more cloud.

Any climate change will affect the distribution of pressure systems. Currently our air is coming from the cold North Atlantic via a low-pressure system to the North-West.
Now I know I am flailing in the dark here, and lots of people have stopped believing in fast climate change - I hope I am proved wrong. If the Spring turns out to be cloudy again, I will start to worry. If not, (as @princess says) I'll get my coat
This is a good link showing large-scale air movements at our latitude and below.
