Default Baggage allowance

Jet2
Do any of you fly Jet2? I'm flying Thomas Cook in 2 weeks time, but have booked Jet2 for September, got a good price on the tickets.
Did you know that Jet2 have a miserable 17kg hold baggage allowance with £6 per kilo excess baggage charged.
I'm having trouble sticking to the 'normal' 20kg allowance at the minute.

I have found that if you can find a 'decent' price you can be sure that they sting you in other ways.

Like you Mrs B I always have a problem sticking to 20kg as I always find something that needs to be taken over for the apartment.

Yes it is 17kg in the hold but unless they have changed the rules you are also allowed 10kg hand luggage. The total 27kg is therefore more than some other airlines.

When we were moving back we had at least 3 pieces of hand luggage each but hide it under coats etc in the trolley. The hand luggage we did show and got weighed we put through the hold. That way when we got on the plane no one questioned us

um, scary to think that terrorists might still get away with that. i do believe they do those checks for a reason...
sorry, don't mean to sound patronising.

I'm sure the extra baggage will have gone through security and x-ray and therefore are not a risk. The security guards will not know how many bags you can carry on a flight.

Yes everything still gets scanned. Its only when we're booking in

I´d flown with Monarch recently and had to pay 5 pounds each way to take luggage in the hold and there limit was 20Kg

This may be the norm now but who would travel for a week and not take any luggage ?
