I have just received an e mail from BA. They have no plans to restart rotues to/from Tenerife & they also say that Easyjet are under no obligation to continue routes they pruchased from GB airways. So that is that & we are none the wiser regarding Easyjets flights to/from Gatwick/Tenerife! All we can do is wait & see......... mopeeps

If I remember correctly at the time, EJ were under an obligation to continue the routes they bought for 6 months (ie September/October), after which it would up to them. The value in the purchase of EJ was in the landing and take off slots at UK airports - especially the London ones much more than the routes themselves. 4 hour flights do not fit the business ethos of low-cost airlines - they make their money out of frequency of flights not distance. Operating the route here is a full day's work for the crews for a single return flight, whereas destinations like mainland Spain, Majorca, Ibiza and so on the crews can get two return flights in the same time period. I think we can all guess the likely outcome. The irony in all this of course is that as more and more 5star resorts open (Abama, Alcala and Puerto Santiago), the types of flights and service these guests would expect are progressively disapearing. Don't think Abama guests would appreciate the EJ bun-fight scramble for seats somehow. More Russians on the way me thinks!

Thanks for the tip del, those prices are very keen - Manchester is at least double for the dates I checked in November... get booking folks - if you can cope with the boarding stampede

The speedy boarding option is recommended and well worth the extra price. We had a dedicated check in desk at Manchester and went right to e front of the queue to check in. It took minutes to lose the suitcases and get our boarding cards. Then we were amongst the first to board and got extra legroom seats (no extra charge). Coming home was not quite as good as there is no dedicated check-in desk.at TFS and when they call the flight you must ignore the queue on the ramp and just walk to the front as soon as they announce boarding. Again we were amongst the first to board and again had extra legroom seats. Overall one of the best flights we have had in a long time.

| Easyjet are now booking up to March. I priced them for third week in March and the cost was just over Ģ100 each. Don't know when we're next coming out though ![]() Still 3 weeks to look forward to next month ![]() ![]()
