Hopefully, this thread will be tidied up with the result as a "Master List" of "xx reasons to holiday this year in Tenerife" and re-stickied for potential UK holidaymakers to see when visiting this forum.

Have we reached 50 yet?

I keep thinking of more, and rushing back to post..

I don't see dogs roaming the streets in tourist areas - do you? Plenty of other tourist destinations where they do, though - which is the idea of the list; to contrast with other destinations which may be cheaper to fly to but...

By the way - can anyone say if Tenerife is a rabies-free island or not?

*continues list*
Main tourist beaches have yellow sand

Outdoor eating and drinking all year round

Outdoor cafes are 'smoker-friendly' but many no-smoking areas available

Many canarian bars serve delicious fresh tapas

Freshly-caught and plentiful fish cuisine available

See wild dolphins and pilot whales via organised boat trips

Cheap and frequent travel to the other Canary Islands

Tax-free status means that many luxury items are cheaper than Spain

No parking meters - free street parking

Virtually no rain days from May until November

Many tourist areas and facilities are wheelchair-friendly

IIRC No poisonous animals indigenous to the island.
