Default Question about Barranco del Infierno + Masca

I have some friends coming over this weekend and they're interested in doing various things. The Barranco del Infierno is one of the things on their list - but is it worth a visit when we haven't had any rain for such a long time?? Do you still have to book in advance?

And is there a guided hike through the valley of Masca where, at the end, they pick you up with a boat??? Is it allowed to hike through the valley on your own?

Any help would be appreciated!

We were in Masca last week and the walk down through the Barranco is currently closed. The sign said it was due to some parts of the track being repaired following the fires. It did not say how long it is expected to be closed for.

The Barranco is good to do with friends .
Best book before and book an early hour now (to hot in afternoon) so you can be back at noon for some lovely chiken at Otello .
After a good walk it tastes twice as good .

I live in adeje, and I've walked the Barranco a number of times. Whether it has rained or not, it is spectacular scenery and well worth the visit. I love the immensity of the gorge and the adeje chicken served at ottelos at the end is welcome.
