Situated in the sea is "the Iceberg". This is a group of "structures" that the kids can clamber over while mum and dad top up their tan or read more than one page of their blockbuster novel. You can pay by the hour or pay for a whole day, which in the end works out cheaper. Life jackets are provided for the little ones.

There are some fabulous boats to gaze longingly and if you take some bread to toss into the sea, zillions of fish will bob up to the surface.

There are some lovely little shops, places to eat and drink, a couple of excursion outlets and a dive shop.

Hope this is a help to any of our members planning to pay Puerto Colon a visit.

Can anyone add anything? Favourite place to eat maybe? Please do share!
Oh dear here I go again, making myself unpopular, Puerto Colon, is Like the old English seaside towns, nice views, nice beach, but tatty Restaurants and bars, with PR's every five yards (sorry metres), mostly substandard food at at cheap prices. Aunties fish and chips being the exception.

It's your opinion Del and you are entitled to it, of course.

To me the most important thing was the family having fun on the beach, and as I thought the kids loved the Iceberg. It is a great little strip of beach that is great for families... sometimes the sea can be too intimidating for nervous swimmers or children. This is just right.

The bonus was the breakfast we had. To be honest we just wanted to fill our tummies, but the place we visited was very welcoming and they made a great fuss of the kids and had a laugh with them, which was lovely.

We did get stopped by the PR's but of course they are just doing their job. No one hassled us, when we said we had eaten or we didn't want to go out on a trip, everyone, without exception was pleasant and wished us a nice day.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Indeed.

Personally I hate the PRs. They completely spoil a pleasant evening stroll and I really despise them.
