Went to La Caleta several times in the last couple of weeks. Make sure you walk along the front by all the fish restaurants and round the corner past all the little houses right by the sea front. There are some good restaurants and a good tapas bar right on the front in amongst the bigger restaurants.
When you walk back you start along the road and then have to descend onto the newly reformed beach. You have to walk along this beach until you get to where the Playa del Duque promenade starts with about five four and five star hotels. Then from there it is promenade all the way to Las Americas. Suggest you stop off for a drink in the bar right next to the El Mirador restaurant; very comfy settees and you can watch the world go by for half an hour.
