Default What kind of work is there in Tenerife?

Im considering moving to Tenerife where i was born (i speak spanish fluently but my vocaulary is limited, although it would improve within a few months im sure), and im wondering what kind of work is generally available out there.

I have experience in working in bars and restaurants, and i play guitar. I would be looking for part time work so that i can have time to concentrate on my music.

I understand that wages are pretty low there, but that the cost of living is pretty low too. Is this right?

Any other information would also help. Thanks.

As you know, we have a thread on low rates of pay in Tenerife, and there are plenty of threads in General Tenerife Chat and Living in Tenerife sections covering work and cost of living ... why not just have a good look around the forum? All your questions have been asked and answered before

Spanish wages and salaries are low compared to the UK regardless of the area in which people work. For teaching, you would really need to be fluent in both languages, and I would think you'd need a teaching qualification. You could perhaps be a classroom assistant helping a Spanish teacher give English lessons.
